Longines 14K Gold Mens Watch

Very nice solid 14K yellow gold cased Longines manual wind watch in great running condition. Over 65 years old and it still runs very well, keeps time accurately and winds and sets smoothly.

The case is tight and free of obvious scratches but I believe the crown is a replacement. The dial is pie pan shape and the finish is original or an older re-do with gold hour markers, simple stick minute, hour and sweep second hands. It is in nice condition for its age, the Longines name is still clear and the white of the dial is a little muted as are the gold highlights which show a little of the softening of gold as it ages. The crystal is in good shape, no scratches or age cracking and abrasion free.

The two piece case measures 36mm lug to lug, 28mm across the face without the crown.

The Swiss movement is a 17 jewel unadjusted 22LS movement in a solid gold jewel housings, one of the better movements for Longines at this time, just post World War II. The movement was cleaned, oil and timed, running strong and keeping good time

The watchband is a lightly used vintage IW brand leather band with gold plated buckle. Has a nice feel, however I will ship a new leather band on request.

This excellent vintage watch that is part of a large collection and was stored safely. The gold content gives it lasting value (currently over $1750 an ounce) and makes it a great time piece for daily wear or a nice gift for a special event.
