Horological Services

A Vintage Breitling is any out of production mechanical timepiece, either manual wind or automatic movement, most produced prior to 1976. Identification can be made via the reference number from the case back, which is normally 3 or 4 digits. The serial number, that provides production date, is usually 6 or 7 digits. NOTE: Serial numbers are often inside the case back – we do not recommend opening the case back. We provide production date with our estimate. Vintage also includes the Montbrillant limited edition series that were sold with the old movements, stop watches and aircraft clocks. Vintage Complete Service typically includes:

• Complete disassembly of the movement, clean, oil and adjustments
• Refinish as needed for rust, damage, and wear
• New mainspring
• New Crown, Pushers
• New Crystal
• Replace worn parts, repair work
• Upgrade and modification of parts to newer executions
• Surface treatment of appropriate mechanical watch parts
• Replace all gaskets
• Refinishing of case and bracelet is optional
• Control all parameters of the function of the movement

Additional Services also performed if needed:

• Parts fabrication, micro-machining
• Movement refinishing – i.e. flat polishing, beveling, satinizing, perlage, and plating
• Plating of case and/or case parts (crown, pushers). This is performed in house.
• Replacement of luminous on dial and hands. Refinishing and re-bluing of steel hands.
• Dial refinishing is sent out to the appropriate facility.

Costs:

A standard estimate administration and shipping fee is $45 if our estimate is declined. This cost is included in the estimate if approved.
